Support from Sezen Aksu to Mahsa Amini Protests

Protests that started in Iran after the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini after being arrested by the ‘Morality Police’ spread all over the world. Singer Sezen Aksu also supported the actions that started for Amini with her social media account.

Mahsa Amini died in a hospital in Tehran 3 days after she was arrested by the “Moral Police” in Iran for “violating the headscarf rules”. Following Amini’s death, protests in Iran have been going on for days.

On the other hand, some female protesters are sharing videos of them cutting their hair and burning their headscarves on social media.

“HOW MANY TONES OF PAIN DO YOU NEED?”

Sezen Aksu also supported the protests that started for Mahsa Amini. Sharing on the subject from his social media account, Aksu made the following statements:

“I’ve been watching what’s going on with mixed feelings and thoughts for a long time. I wonder how many tons of pain is needed to be equalized in this patriarchal male scale? How many deaths does freedom require? How many women, how many children, how many fights, how many wars, how many tortures, how many hells?

Iranian women have torn the veil of this mournful past, taken with them good people, walking on the fire. I bow respectfully before Mahsa Amini, whose life was taken away from her at a young age, and the courage of all Iranian and world women who are fighting for freedom…”
