However, foreign students who are enrolled in associate degree or undergraduate programs in Turkey are given the right to work no more than 30 hours a week following the first year of studies.

Work permits granted to the foreign students do not terminate the valid student residence permit and the rights granted by this residence permit. Procedures and principles regarding the employment of foreign students are determined by the Ministry by taking the opinions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and by taking into consideration the principles determined by the Immigration Policies Committee.

In the event that the foreigners who completed their higher education in Turkey apply for a work permit within one year as of their graduation date, the application shall be evaluated in accordance with the principles determined by the International Labour Policy Advisory Board.

Important: Please be informed that foreign students who granted state scholarship in Turkey during the Bachelor degree are not able to get work permit after the graduation even if their type of residence permit has been changed to the short term residence permit.

  7. Dear team,

I am from pakistan and i will study in MBA program. I paid 20 % program fee and got the student visa for 90 days which validity from 15 Sep 2018 to 14 March 2019 and I arrived on 28 September 2018.

When I reached at university, they required remaining balance of the program within a week and I will enrolled after paid remaining balance. But if I will failed to paid that remaining balance then they told me that just go back to your country then get the new visa and come back for next term registration . Next term registration will started in the end of Jan 2019.

I do not want to go back to my country neither repeat the same process.

Please suggest me that can I apply residence permit without enrolled in the university if I will be failed to pay the remaining balance of program. If any legally way to me then I will paid remaining balance in Jan 2019 registration and I will enrolled in next term.

  9. Hi,
I am PhD student, my question is is there any limit for work hours per week for a PhD student?

  10. Hi,
My situation is following. I have been working in Turkey for a year and during this year also started studying as a Yüksek Lisans student. Now my work permit has expired and we failed to get an extended permit. I tried to apply for student residence permit, but they said that as my permit has already expired 2months ago, and I’m here illegally, they can not give me the permit until I go out of the country, pay the fee for overstaying and return with a fresh entry date.
So my concern is about re-entering the country. I’m an EU citizen. Would the 90/180 tourist entry rule apply to me in this case? Or what do you suggest to do now if I want to continue studying and eventually also working in Turkey?
