YouTube TV introduces a new multi-view feature designed for sports fans. Details are here!
YouTube TV has launched a new feature designed specifically for sports fans. To provide the best TV viewing experience to this passionate audience, the streaming service has added a new multi-watch feature that allows them to switch between audio and subtitles across multiple streams.
You may not see it in your YouTubeTV app yet, as the new feature is currently only available in early access. The streaming service has announced that some members will start seeing the option to watch four different pre-selected streams simultaneously in the “Choosed For You” section.
As mentioned earlier, this allows YouTube TV members to switch audio and subtitles between streams, as well as jump in and out of a stream’s full-screen view. The new multi-watch feature, which has been in development for a while, joins a number of YouTubeTV enhancements that have rolled out over the past few years, including highlights, fantasy viewing, and 4K streaming.
You can switch to the broadcast you want
YouTube TV’s multi-view feature is designed to work even on devices with less processing power. As German Cheung (Engineering leader, YouTubeTV) points out, the company has decided to perform all rendering requirements on YouTube servers, even if subscribers are on any device to use the feature.
This means that your device will stream once and not need any processing power to play multiple streams simultaneously.
If you’re not among the testers, you’ll have to wait until the company announces that YouTube TV’s multi-view feature will be rolled out gradually, gathering feedback from subscribers. More importantly, the feature will continue to be developed as more functionality is expected to be added, including the option to customize multiple view streams.
