Residence Permit

What is Ç-117 Restriction Code?

The processes of a foreigner’s residence and participation in business life in Turkey depend on the procedures of certain legal procedures. To give an example, foreigners who want to reside in Turkey for a long time after the visa period must obtain a residence permit, while foreigners who want to work in Turkey must also have a valid work permit. For this reason, different restriction codes can be applied to people who do not stay in Turkey legally or who do not have the necessary permits while participating in the working life. In addition, in cases deemed necessary, administrative sanctions are imposed on these persons as determined by law. These sanctions can be faced by foreigners in the form of deportation, administrative fine or entry ban. In this article, we will briefly talk about the details of the Ç-117 Restriction Code, which is one of the most common restriction codes for foreigners in Turkey.

Ç-117 restriction code is applied to foreigners who have been identified in the competent authorities as actively participating in working life, although they do not have a valid work permit in Turkey. In addition, administrative fines can be imposed on these people and an entry ban to Turkey can be imposed from 1 to 5 years. In addition, foreigners in Turkey cannot apply for a work permit themselves. Companies that want to employ a foreigner must first meet the necessary conditions and then apply for a work permit on behalf of the foreigner they will employ. We would like to remind you again that employing foreign personnel without a work permit is a serious crime and that administrative fines will be applied. Our team shared details about the administrative penalties to be applied in this video.
