Trump Will Be Able To Return to Facebook and Instagram
After Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, the way to return to former US President Donald Trump was opened. A similar move came from Meta, the owner of Facebook and Instagram. Trump’s social media accounts were closed due to his posts in the congress raid.
Meta, the umbrella organization of Facebook and Instagram, will reactivate the accounts of former US President Donald Trump, whose accounts were closed after the congressional raid in 2021.
Nick Clegg, Meta’s head of global affairs, announced that Trump’s accounts will be reopened next week.
Clegg also stated that Trump will face account suspensions for up to 2 years for each platform rule violation.
It is not yet known whether the former President will return to the platforms in question.
Facebook shut down Trump’s account the day after the congressional raid on January 6, 2021.
Twitter has taken a similar step. Elon Musk opened Donald Trump’s account after buying Twitter. Trump, who founded his own social media platform Truth, had not returned to Twitter.
Donald Trump has announced that he will run for president in the 2024 presidential election.
