Koç University

Koç University is a foundation university and the university  started education in Istanbul in 1993. The school, which initially provided education in İstinye, moved to its permanent campus on the Rumelifeneri road in 2000 and continues its activities here with 400 faculty members and approximately 6900 students. Koç University is one of the universities with the highest annual tuition and success rates among foundation universities.

Boğaziçi University

Bogazici University is a state university in Turkey. On September 16, 1863, the predecessor Robert College was founded by Cyrus Hamlin and Christopher Robert. South Campus has been used as affiliated to the college for over a hundred years. Then it transferred to the Republic of Turkey for the establishment of an independent university on September 10, 1971 and Bogazici University was founded. Today, Boğaziçi University, which has a total area of 1,672,106 m2 and has six campuses, provides English education.

Middle East Technical University

Middle East Technical University is a state university established in Ankara. Except for the Marine Sciences Institute in Mersin and METU NCC (Northern Cyprus Campus) in TRNC, all of its buildings are on the same campus. The language of instruction of the university, which has graduated over 120 thousand so far, is English. It has achieved many firsts throughout the country, such as providing education in a foreign language, establishing a central computer system, opening a university museum, establishing a technocity, and an internet connection.

Istanbul Technical University

Istanbul Technical University (ITU) is a state university located in Istanbul, whose roots date back to 1773. Today, ITU’s main campus is located in Maslak, the business center of Istanbul, and is spread over a total of 5 campuses, 4 of which are on the European side and 1 on the Anatolian side. Education is still carried out in the buildings from the Ottoman period in the Maçka, Taşkışla and Gümüşsuyu campuses. ITU graduates have played a major role in the growth and development of the Republic of Turkey in the first year of many firsts in the country and has signed under many of the engineering work.

Hacettepe University

Hacettepe University is a state university, which was founded in Ankara, the capital of the Republic of Turkey on July 8, 1967. The university, whose main campus is in Sıhhiye and the largest settlement is in Beytepe Campus, has five campuses in total. There are various vocational schools and research centers in the campuses outside Sıhhiye and Beytepe.

Istanbul University

Istanbul University’s main campus is located in the Fatih district of Istanbul is Turkey’s oldest state university. Istanbul University is a direct continuation of Darülfünun, considered the first European-style university in the Ottoman Empire. In 2019, the world’s best 500 universities in the ranking is the only university from entering Turkey. Istanbul University has been among the top 500 universities in the world since 2006.

Marmara University

Marmara University is a state university in Istanbul. The university is one of the leading higher education institutions of Turkey. There are 16 faculties, 11 institutes, 3 colleges and 4 vocational schools within the university. Education in five languages, including Turkish, English, French, German and Arabic, is offered in its academic units.

Yıldız Technical University

Yıldız Technical University is a state university in Istanbul that was founded in 1911 under the name Kondüktör Mekteb-i Âlîsi. Yıldız Technical University continues its academic activities today with more than 25000 undergraduate students, more than 9000 graduate students and around 1700 academic staff.  It includes 11 faculties, 2 institutes and 3 colleges.  Yildiz Technical University  became Turkey’s first full ISO 9001 certified university in 2012 .

Gazi University

Gazi University is a state university in Ankara. It was founded in Ankara in 1926. In addition, Gazi University holds the title of being the first university of the republic. Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, Education, Science, Engineering and Technology are important faculties. The university has campuses in Beşevler, Emek, Maltepe, Gölbaşı and Çubuk. Apart from these, Gazi University has vocational schools and colleges in Ankara OSTİM, Çankaya, Kızılay, Polatlı and Beypazarı districts.

In 2018, the university was divided and some faculties, schools and institutes were transferred to the newly established Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University. Currently, the university continues its educational activities with 11 faculties, 5 institutes, 1 college, 3 vocational schools and 35 research and application centers. Faculty of Law and Turkish Music State Conservatory are among the divided departments.

Gazi University, which was founded in Ankara in 1926, continued its educational activities outside the province of Ankara, and established faculties, high schools and vocational high schools in these regions. Most of these schools formed the foundations of the new universities established in 2006.

Bilkent University

Bilkent Universit is a  foundation university located in the capital of Turkey in Ankara. Bilkent University declared its founding purpose as “to be among the leading universities in the world in terms of education quality, scientific research and publications, and cultural and artistic activities”.

The campus of the university is located between the Beytepe campus of Hacettepe University and the Ankara campus of the Middle East Technical University. The university campus, located at the 12th kilometer of the Ankara-Eskişehir road, has 3 campuses, namely Central, East and Middle. The campus is located on 5,000 acres of land. The university was ranked among the top 411 universities in the world according to the 2016 data of the THES – QS World University Rankings. It is ranked among the top 400 universities in the world in the Times Higher Education world universities 2017 rankings. According to these rankings, it is in the 46th place in Asia.
