Russia Develops Cargo UAV Called TrAMP
Russia has developed a cargo unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that can carry up to 250 kilograms of cargo over a distance of about 600 kilometers.
A source from the Russian defense industry told the RIA Novosti news agency, “The multifunctional transport aerial platform, or TrAMP for short, is an unmanned aerial vehicle arranged in a classical style.
It is designed to deliver and unload loads of up to 250 kilograms over distances of more than 600 km, as well as to perform tasks that are dangerous for conventional aircraft in adverse weather conditions at minimum cost.
Noting that TrAMP can take off from unsuitable terrain and land on such terrains, the source explained that thanks to the large cargo compartment, the UAV can load large items and land them with a parachute without the need for the vehicle to land.
While it is stated that the vehicle can also be used for civilian purposes, it can be used in the field of agriculture by attaching fertilizer sprayers to the large land observation and cargo section of TrAMP. Radar, optical cartographic and other special equipment can also be installed in the cargo compartment.
