The technical details of Nintendo Switch 2, which has been on the agenda with leaks for a while, have gradually started to become clear. So what awaits us? Here’s what we know…
Having achieved significant success in the console market with the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo has started preparations for the successor of the model. At this point, recently shared leaks showed us that Nintendo Switch 2 will start to take its place on the shelves in late 2023. While the excited wait for the new handheld console continues, now the details of the chipset that will power the device have emerged.
Nintendo Switch 2 Features Leaked
As it is known, Nintendo Switch appeared with 20 nm Nvidia Tegra X1 and 16 nm Tegra X1 + platform. However, sources close to the industry reported that the next Nintendo console will be powered by an NVIDIA Tegra chip using Samsung’s 5nm 5LPP (5nm Low Power Plus) manufacturing technology.
Considering that Nintendo has canceled the Switch Pro model and focused on a next-generation console instead, we can say that the transition to 5nm technology certainly seems logical. As a matter of fact, the development in production technology shows us that the new generation Tegra platform will be more modern, more efficient and definitely more powerful than the previous one.
Of course, it should be noted that the new leaks have not been confirmed by Nintendo yet. For this reason, we will have to wait for a while for all the details of the new generation handheld console.
