Migros will establish an electric vehicle charging station where customers can charge their electric vehicles in Migros parking lots. In the first half of the year, 50 stores will be installed in 19 provinces.
Migros, which received the “Charging Network Operator License” from the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) in the past months, has accelerated the installation of its electric vehicle charging station. By the first half of the year, charging stations will be installed in 50 stores.
Migros, which wanted to allow customers to charge their electric vehicles while shopping, became the first retail company to receive a license from EMRA as a result. A new company, Migen Energy, was established with a capital of 4 million 500 thousand TL under the umbrella of Migros for the installation and operation of charging stations. The whole process will be carried out through this company.
According to the statement made by the company, the installation of charging stations in more than 50 Migros stores in 19 provinces will be completed by the end of June. These stations will also have a fast charging feature.
Making an assessment on the subject, Migros Ticaret AŞ Deputy General Manager of Investment Development and Construction Sevki Tuncer said:
“The use of electric vehicles in our country is becoming more and more widespread, as it is all over the world. In this direction, we decided to establish charging stations to contribute to the electric vehicle transformation in Turkey and to facilitate our customers using electric vehicles to access charging services, and we established Migen Energy in recent months with a 100% capital partnership. We are happy to be the first retailer in Turkey to offer charging services to electric vehicles with the approval of Migen Energy’s application for a charging network operator license.”
