The short videos that make up TikTok’s content algorithm have started to be taken as an example by other social media platforms due to the intense interest they have received. First, Instagram responded to this feature of TikTok with videos it called “Reels”.

A New Feature Is Coming To Instagram

Instagram, which has the most users among social media applications, continues to develop its Reels feature. Explaining that it allows downloading Reels videos in its latest update, the social media giant said that they will continue to develop the application. Also, downloaded videos can be shared with other apps.

Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri announced on Tuesday that users living in the US will be able to download Reels videos. Stating that only public profiles allow their videos to be downloaded, the manager also said that this feature can be turned off by the video owner.

In addition, the downloaded videos will have the Instagram logo. Before the update, Instagram only allowed content creators to download their own videos, but now, with the added Instagram, anyone can download videos.

Reels videos, the popular concept of the last period, has become one of the fastest and fastest growing services of digital media. Making statements after the first quarter meeting of 2023, Mark Zuckerberg announced that the average time spent on Instagram increased by 24 percent after the Reels feature.
