Historical buildings affected by the earthquake in Gaziantep will be repaired
Gaziantep Municipality teams started to work to record the historical buildings and places damaged after the earthquake.
In this context, field research and reporting were carried out by the scientific committee, which included academicians from the relevant departments of many universities.
The report in which the data was collected was delivered to the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality, Fatma Şahin.
Şahin stated to reporters that the cultural assets damaged after the disaster will be strengthened by improving them in the light of science.
Noting that Gaziantep is important in terms of history, Şahin said:
“Our professors in the scientific committee are experts in their fields. We listen to the voice of science at a time when the inns, baths and minarets, especially the Gaziantep Castle, need restoration as soon as possible. It is a very important report after the work of our teachers. We need to know what to do about safety first and then documentation.” We will create the infrastructure that will quickly restore the texture of the city from all periods.’
