Domestic And National Underground Imaging Device Saved Many Lives

The locally produced underground imaging device helped many citizens trapped under the rubble to be rescued alive.

Turkey was shaken by two major earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş.

The earthquakes, the first with a magnitude of 7.7 and the second with a magnitude of 7.6, caused major destruction in Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Diyarbakır, Adana, Osmaniye, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Adıyaman, Malatya and Hatay.

Under the coordination of the Presidency of Defense Industries, many companies of the sector supported search and rescue activities in the field with their capabilities and technologies.

Technological capabilities and systems developed by the Turkish defense industry were shipped to the places in need in coordination with AFAD and made available to search and rescue teams.

Domestic And National Imaging Device Activated

Underground imaging, detection and analysis devices, behind-the-wall radars, camera systems of various types and features, underground imaging devices, stick cameras, thermal cameras, solar-powered cameras and lapel cameras developed by the defense industry enabled search and rescue teams to work quickly and effectively.

One of these devices, underground imaging and detection devices produced by Assuva Defense with domestic and national facilities, was actively used by gendarmerie and civilian users in the region.

Saved Many Lives

The underground imaging device produced with domestic and national facilities, which is used in operations to detect tunnels, bunkers and warehouses under the ground surface, played an important role in locating those trapped under the rubble in earthquakes and led to the rescue of many people alive. Images of the moments when the underground imaging device made with domestic and national facilities produced with the latest technology found the citizens under the rubble have emerged.
