Foreigners residing outside the Turkey are subject to apply for work permit from the representative offices of Turkey in their own countries. Pursuance to work permit application of foreigner, within 10 working days the employer should process both online and direct applications to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security in Turkey. Once the approval from the Ministry is granted, foreigners are required to apply for work visa to the Turkish representative office within 90 days. Upon their arrival to Turkey with work visa, foreigners are required to apply for Work Registered Residence Permit to the Alien’s Branch of the Local Police Department within 30 days. Work permit will only takes effect in the existence of valid residence permit.

*Under the discretion of the foreign representatives of Turkey or in accordance with bilateral agreements, some other supporting documents might be demanded for work visa applications.

WORK VISA APPLICATION PROCESS
In abroad applications, there is two-step application model. Work permits are obtaining through the Turkish Consulates as work visas. Pursuance to the applicant’s application to the Turkish consulate for work visa, within ten working days, the employer should apply for work permit to the Turkish Ministry of Labor and Social Security. RESIDENCE PERMIT
As per new rules on residence permits, valid working permissions will be used as residence permits. Thus work permit validity requirement of residence permit application within 30 days upon obtaining the work permit (for consulate applications 30 days was starting upon arrival of work permit holders) will be outlawed. On the other hand the same as work permits, “Work Permit Exemption Certificates” will also be used as residence permits.

Evaluation process takes approximately 30 working days. After your application would be approved, you need to visit Turkish Consulate to get work visa. As we do not know any details of your application, it is not possible to say anything about the chances of approval.

If you spend 5 years in Turkey uninterruptedly (you can spend one year abroad in total within these 5 years) basing on work permit or residence permit for property owners, you can be eligible for Turkish citizenship application. Time spent in Turkey on basis of turistic residence permit is not counted as residency period during citizenship application.

Application for foreigner who has residence permit valid in total for at least 6 months can be done within Turkey. For foreigners who are not residence permit holders, application must be done via Turkish Consulate in their home country. Work permit application procedures take approximately 30 working days.

Even though you are married to Turkish Citizen, as a foreigner you must obtain work permit is order to work within Turkey. You can be eligible for Turkish Citizenship application after you will be married for three years.

So for clarification: I will not need to relinquish my actual passport until after everything has been reviewed (around 30 days). When I do take my passport to the consulate it will be to insert the work visa and should only take about a day? I married 3 months AGO TO TURKUSH CITIZEN (IM FROM UK). I HAVE FAMILY RESENDENCY . DO U NEED A WORK PERMIT TO WORK IN HUSBANDS SMALL RESTAURANT.( Just opening new restaurant for first time). In order to work in Turkey you need to obtain work permit. Before 3 years of your marriage passes, work permit can be obtained only if Ministry of Labor’s criteria would be met by the workplace:
– paid capital of at least 100.000 TL
– 5 Turkish personnel employed per each foreign employee
In this case your husband as an owner of a workplace must apply for your work permit.
If you would be the owner of the company, minimum capital must be 10.000 TL but in order to obtain work permit, criteria mentioned above will need to be fulfilled.

We do not provide this kind of services. In order to obtain work visa first you need to find a job in Turkey and your future employer must apply for your work permit. Foreigners can not apply for work permit in their own name or without having a job in Turkey. After your work permit application would be accepted, work visa will be issued by your local Turkish Embassy/Consulate.

Yes, you can obtain residence permit as a property owner. Also, after you find a job in Turkey, your future employer can apply for your work permit within Turkey basing on your residence permit as long as it will be valid in total for at least 6 months.
