Tesla, the second largest electric vehicle seller in China, has made large investments in recent years to become even more active in the Asian market. But safety regulations in China put the company’s hand at ease.

Under the new decision, 1.09 million Tesla vehicles sold from 2019 to 2023 are expected to be recalled. Models sought include the Model S, Model Y, and Model 6.

A related vulnerability in the regulation includes drivers inadvertently pressing the accelerator pedal for too long, which poses a safety hazard.

To address this situation, Tesla decided to make the necessary mechanical adjustments and add notification options to the recalled vehicles.
