TAI is Developing Unmanned Warplanes: TUSAŞ TİSU

Having achieved significant success with Anka and Aksungur UAVs, TUSAŞ now comes up with the unmanned warplane project. The first information about TUSAŞ TİSU is in our news.

Bayraktar Kızılelma, Turkey’s first unmanned fighter aircraft developed by Baykar, took action for the first time yesterday. Kızılelma’s first Automatic Taxi and Running Test was successfully completed. In addition to Baykar, Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) rolled up its sleeves for unmanned warplanes.

Project development studies have started for the unmanned warplane named TUSAŞ TİSU. TUSAŞ TİSU will have a jet engine and a weight of approximately 7 tons. Developed with the experience gained from the Aksungur UAV project, TİSU will have different missions and capabilities. It is stated that the flight speed will be at 0.7 mach speed.

TISU will make its first flight in 2023

Since there is no image shared by the company for TİSU yet, we do not have information about its design. TISU is expected to make its first test flight in mid-2023. TAI is also developing domestic fighter aircraft with 5+ generation features. The engine to be used in the National Combat Aircraft, whose prototype production has been completed, has arrived in Turkey. The National Combat Aircraft will leave the hangar on March 18, 2023.
