Serik is a town in the Republic of Turkey in the Mediterranean region of Antalya. Located in the central part of Antalya province , the district is an important tourism center of Antalya province. The population of the district, which increases with tourism in the summer, decreases considerably with the departure of the students from the district in winter. Approximately 30 km from Antalya city center. The district center is located to the east, 7 km from the coast. inside. Serik district center is 30 km east of Antalya. The district, which has 22 km of coastline in the Mediterranean, is 8 km inland and 26 m above the sea. It was founded on a partially undulating plain land. The area of the district is 1.550 km². 45,360 hectares of this is agricultural land, 65,764 hectares of it is forest land. Serik constitutes a part of the Antalya Plain extending towards the east. Serik district is surrounded by Aksu district of Antalya center in the west, Manavgat district in the east, Bucak district of Burdur in the north, Sütçüler district of Isparta and the Mediterranean in the south. The working life of the district varies according to the seasons. Especially in the summer months, the vitality in the tourism sector is one of the income sources of the district. In winter, the majority of the population is engaged in agriculture. Apart from this, a large part of the economy of the district is based on tourism and agriculture, and 90% of the population is engaged in tourism and agriculture. Part of the manpower needed for agricultural activities is met from its own region and part from the surrounding provinces and districts.  The construction of the Tuberculosis Dispensary was started in 1957 and in 1967, it started its activities as Serik Health Center with an area of 1200 m2 in 10 decares of land. In 1975, Serik Public Hospital was transformed into Serik Public Hospital with 25 staff beds and 20 actual beds. In 1976, while continuing its activities, it has moved in a 2-storey main building and 7 prefabricated buildings in a total of 2800 m2 closed area with 100 actual beds, 22 polyclinics, 4 operating rooms, 5 intensive care beds, 2 delivery rooms, 4 incubators. 1 x-ray, 1 tomography, 1 Ultrasonography, 1 Biochemistry Lab., 1 Hematology Lab, 1 Microbiology Lab, 1 Pathology Lab.
