President Erdoğan recently traveled to the United States for the United Nations General Assembly and the Turkey Investment Conference. During his visit, he met with Elon Musk, founder of Tesla and SpaceX.
President Erdoğan discussed Turkey’s technological advancements, the vision of digital Turkey and the national artificial intelligence strategy with Musk. Erdoğan also urged Tesla to consider building its 7th factory in Turkey and highlighted the company’s entry into the electric car market with TOGG.
President Erdoğan Suggested Musk to Build Tesla’s 7th Factory in Turkey
President Erdoğan proposed potential cooperation between Turkey and SpaceX within the scope of Turkey’s space program and invited Musk to attend the Teknofest event in Izmir. He emphasized Turkey’s importance in technology and its success in drones.
In return, Musk expressed his belief in the future role of advanced UCAVs in warfare and appreciated the global interest in Bayraktar UAVs. The meeting between Musk and Erdoğan lasted about 45 minutes before Musk left the Turkevi.
