Kalekoy, One of Turkey’s Most Special Villages

Kalekoy is a small and quiet village that can only be reached from the sea. Actually, this is a peninsula, so there is a land connection, but since there is no road other than the goat route, transportation is provided by boat. All the women of the village are also captains. Local people settled in historical ruins from Lycia and Byzantium and have been living here for centuries. There isn’t much outside of a few restaurants and hotels, but it’s very enjoyable and a must-see. The castle that gives the village its name has a wonderful view. Don’t leave here without sinking the day and eating ice cream! If you are going to do one of the boat or canoe tours, they definitely add Kalekoy to the route.
