Google’s ChatGPT Competitor Chatbot Bard: What is Bard? What are the Differences Between Bard and ChatGPT?

After the rapidly rising popularity of ChatGPT in the last days, artificial intelligence wars started between technology giants. While Microsoft recently acquired ChatGPT, Google introduced its own AI chatbot, Bard. So, when will the Bard be used? At what points will Bard and ChatGPT differ? Here’s what you need to know about Bard, the chatbot that Google will integrate into its search engine.

In response to ChatGPT, Bard is designed as an ‘experimental chat-based artificial intelligence service’ that answers users’ questions and participates in conversations, according to Google’s statement.

Sundar Pichai, Google’s CEO, announced that he has started a closed beta test for “trusted testers” to seek feedback before the chatbot goes public in the coming weeks.

While Google didn’t reveal more details about the program, on the company’s website users asked Bard, “How do I explain new discoveries on NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope to a 9-year-old?” or “How do I plan a friend’s baby shower?” You can ask questions such as.

HOW WAS THE GOOGLE BARD DEVELOPED?

However, the first version of Google Bard uses the tech giant’s lightweight version of LaMDA, which requires significantly less computing power, allowing us to scale to more users and provide more feedback.

“We will combine external feedback with our own internal testing to ensure Bard’s responses meet real-world information. We are excited for this testing phase, which will help us continue to learn and improve Bard’s quality and speed,” Pichai said.

“TO BE MORE RESPONSIBLE THAN CHATGPT”

On the other hand, since ChatGPT acquired by Microsoft is controversial for abuse, Pichai stated that Google’s artificial intelligence services will act “responsibly”.

In December, the chatbot came under fire after students used ChatGPT to cheat on exams and homework.

ChatGPT, on the other hand, is a large language model that uses a variation of the GPT (Generative Pre-training Transformer) architecture to generate human-like text. The chatbot is trained on a variety of internet texts and is capable of generating substantial responses to a wide variety of commands.

However, Bard will follow a slower path compared to ChatGPT and pass various tests before its public launch. Pichai stated that Bard’s testers are “a demographically and geographically different group of people outside of Google” and that these people are testing to develop the chatbot.

“Bard aims to combine the vast knowledge of the world with the power, intelligence and creativity of our great language models. It will use information from the internet to provide new, high-quality answers. Bard will be a new milestone for creativity.” said.

On the other hand, Bard’s announcement comes nearly a month after Google executives announced that they will “develop an AI chatbot” version of the search engine this year.
