The 1974 model Rolls-Royce silver car of world-famous singer Freddie Mercury, who died in 1991, was sold at auction for 6 million TL, 10 times its value.
The lead singer of The Queen, which took the world by storm in the 1980s, went on sale in his 1974 gray Rolls-Royce car, which he entered the studio when he was most famous. It was sold at RM Sothebt’s London Sale on November 7 at 10 times its estimated value.
The roles were sold for 286,250 liras, or 6 million liras, with the last offer. All proceeds from the sale went to the Superhuman Center, which was set up to provide assistance in Ukraine. After Freddie’s death, Mercury’s sister Kashmira Cooke took over the car for many years. Mercury, who did not have a license, had his driver use his vehicle because he could never drive it himself.
