According to the laws in force in the Republic of Turkey, if the international protection application made by the foreigners is concluded positively and the foreigner is given one of the “refugee” or “secondary protection” statuses, the spouses or minor children of the foreigners abroad and the adult children who are dependent on the family for various reasons in Turkey. They have the right to request permission within the scope of “family residence permit” in order to come to Turkey. It should be known that if there is a family member whose asylum application has been accepted in a country other than Turkey and who is legally there, it is possible for foreigners to be admitted to the country within the framework of the right to family reunification in the relevant country. Let us remind you that if foreigners in Turkey have a relative abroad, some countries require the relevant family members to make family reunification applications on your behalf. If the foreigner is in Turkey, these applications can be made to the embassies or consulates of the relevant countries in Turkey. However, the final decisions are made by the relevant country.
In addition, there is no legal obstacle for foreigners with international protection status in Turkey to apply for a family residence permit for their family members abroad. Applications in this regard are made to the General Directorate of Migration Management, and the final decisions are taken by the Migration Administration.
