In addition, foreigners who have had an official marriage in a country other than Turkey can also file for divorce in Turkey, since their marital status is recognized in the country. In addition, it is possible to file a divorce case for spouses who are not currently or do not reside in Turkey, but the absence of the spouse in the country can be shown as a factor prolonging the process in these cases.
All foreigners who are officially divorced and whose marital status appears to be single can remarry after the conclusion of the divorce proceedings. While women can marry again 300 days after their divorce, there is no restriction for men. If they want to get married in a shorter period of time, women who want to get married must submit a health certificate that they are not pregnant.
