Applications for work permit are made through e-Government portal of Turkey (https://ecalismaizni.ailevecalisma.gov.tr). The automated work permit application system enables the users to fill the online work permit application form and upload necessary documents into the system. Online application is made through the e-government portal. Duly applications are finalized by the Ministry at most thirty days and once the decision is made, the ministry informs the applicant through e-mail. Foreigners residing outside the Turkey can make their work permit applications through the Turkish representative offices in their home countries. In the existence of residence permit valid for at least 6 months, foreigners residing in Turkey can make their applications directly to Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
1.FOREIGNERS RESIDING OUTSIDE OF TURKEY
Foreigners residing outside the Turkey are subject to apply for work permit from the representative offices of Turkey in their own countries. Pursuance to work permit application of foreigner, within 10 working days the employer should process the application online to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security in Turkey. Once the approval from the Ministry is granted, foreigners are required to apply for work visa to the Turkish representative office within 90 days.
As per new rules on residence permits, valid working permissions will be now used as residence permits as well. Thus work permit validity requirement of residence permit application within 30 days upon obtaining the work permit (for consulate applications 30 days was starting upon arrival of work permit holders) will be outlawed. On the other hand the same as work permits, “Work Permit Exemption Certificates” will also be used as residence permits.
2.FOREIGNERS RESIDING INSIDE TURKEY
Foreigners with residence permit valid for at least 6 months may make their applications to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security internally. Internal applications are made by the employer directly to the Ministry. Once the online application is completed and signed by electronic signature, there is no need to send any documents to the Ministry .
3.WORK PERMIT EXTENSION APPLICATIONS
Extension application of the work permit period is made to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. As Internal applications, after completing and signing with e-signature online applications, there is no need to post any documents to ministry. The application for extension could be started from 2 months before the expiry date of the work permit. After the expiry date of work permit, the applicant no longer may request for extension and the application is regarded as initial application.

You can either search for a job online or visit Turkey on touristic visa to attend job interviews within the country. After you find a job in Turkey, your future employer must apply for your work permit. Foreigners can not apply for work permit in their own name or without having a job in Turkey. Application for foreigner who has residence permit valid in total for at least 6 months can be done within Turkey. For foreigners who are not residence permit holders, application must be done via Turkish Consulate in their home country.

My company applied for my work permit 3 months ago and we still didn’t receive any answer. (They applied one month before my residence permit was done. Is this a problem?)
Now I want to know if I want to cancel and go back to my country. Do I have to pay any fees? will I have a problem with police at airport?
They applied for my colleague after me and he got his work permit.

Work permit applications are being evaluated in approximately 30 working days. Your employer should contact the Ministry of Labor to check the status of your application. If your residence permit has expired in the meantime, you will need to pay a fine while leaving Turkey.

Hello, I want to apply for a work permit bit I want to know how money is deducted from my salary. I have a residence permit. I tried to talk to my boss and he was worried about paying insurance for me. I told him I have my insurance.
I want to know if the insurance I used for residence is the same I can use for work permit.
Secondly, I want to know how money will be deducted from my salary every month. Let’s assume am being paid 2000tl.
Lastly, I want to know if everytime I want to renew my work permit I will need a residence permit as a supporting document. Thanks

There will be no amount deducted from your salary. If you agree for a net salary with your employer, all of the other expenses should be covered by the company. However, be informed that the minimum gross wage for foreigners for 2019 is 3.837,60 TL, which is approximately 2750 TL of net salary. Insurance used for residence permit can not be used for work permit, employer must register you in Social Security. You will not need residence permit to extend work permit.

Is there is any restriction by the government in case of this type buisiness.
It is necessary to hire minimum 5 turkish national before registering a company for hostel business.

Foreigners are allowed to do this kind of business in Turkey after registering a company here. Hiring 5 Turkish is not obligatory for registering the company, however it is required in order to obtain work permit for a foreign company owner.

I am engineer tamer from Egypt.
I received a signed contract and offer from a Turkish company in Istanbul and the instructed me to contact expat cont office for a work permit and resident visa procedures and that i need to pay the fees to this office to apply and receive the required permits and visa ( family contract ).
Once i contact the mentioned office through email and their website, they reply to me with some documents i need to fill and fees of approx. 2500$ ( family ).
I need assistance to make sure that is not a scam or fake issue to do the requested.

I have just started a new job, they applied for my work visa about 6 weeks ago and they said my visa should be arriving anytime soon. My work visa from my previous job was cancelled on August 14th so is no longer valid. I was wondering if I need to apply for a residency visa in the meantime until my new work visa comes, or does the fact that my employer has made the application allow me to stay here?

You are allowed to obtain work permit as a PhD student in Turkey under condition that you were not receiving state scholarship in Turkey during your education. İn order to obtain work permit, first you need to find a job in Turkey and your future employer must apply for your work permit. Foreigners can not apply for work permit in their own name or without having a job in Turkey. Application for foreigner who has residence permit valid in total for at least 6 months can be done within Turkey. For foreigners who are not residence permit holders, application must be done via Turkish Consulate in their home country. Work permit application can not be submitted basing on visa.

The Law says that with permanent residence you may enjoy most of the rights granted to a Turkish citizen, except for some basic rights such as: (candidacy, election, public office, importation of cars).

I have my receipt and they applied before my residence permit was expired. Can I stay legally in Turkey? and Can I travel in Turkey without any problem? (I have only papers about application)

You can stay legally in Turkey during the evaluation of work permit application. If you are planning to travel within the country, you should have a receipt stating that application has been made, however, it is better not to travel until you will receive the work permit card.

They applied via http://www.turkiye.gov.tr but they still didn’t receive any answer.
