Who is Tuncel Kurtiz (Ramiz Dayi)?
Tuncel Kurtiz was born on February 1, 1936 in the Bahcecik district of Izmit, the son of Turkish bureaucrat Hamdi Vala Kurtiz, who was born in Thessaloniki, and the Bosnian Mufide Kurtiz.
Kurtiz, who continued his primary education in 8 different cities due to his father’s duty, completed his secondary school in Edremit district of Balikesir.
STARTED ACTING AT HALDUN DORMEN THEATER
The master actor, who graduated from Istanbul Haydarpasa High School and worked as a part-time light controller at IETT during his school years, studied law, English philology, philosophy, psychology and art history, but left the university without completing any of them.
The master name, who started acting in Haldun Dormen Theater in 1958 and continued in the cinema with the 1964 film “Seytanin Usaklari” directed by Orhan Gunsiray, acted in more than a hundred movies.
Kurtiz undertook the script and direction of the 1979 movie “Gul Hasan” and wrote the script of the 1980 movie “On Fertile Lands”.
The artist, who settled abroad after the military coup of September 12, 1980, took part in theater and cinema projects in Sweden, the USA and Germany.
He increased his fan base with the character of “Ramiz Dayi” in the TV series “Ezel”.
The famous actress returned to Turkey in the 1990s and took part in the TV series “Alacakaranlik” in 2003, “Haci” in 2006, and “Asi” in 2007.
Kurtiz, who hosted his famous friends in a boutique hotel in Balikesir Edremit district Camlibel village in 2010 for a television channel, made a program called “Tuncel Kurtiz and His Friends”, and voiced the documentary “Life” in the same year.

Kurtiz, who increased his fan base in his last years of art with the characters “Ramiz Dayi” in the TV series “Ezel” and “Ebussuud Efendi” in the TV series “Muhtesem Yüzyil”, also won many awards.
Kurtiz made a name for himself with his movie lines in which he sang concise words, as well as the roles he played masterfully in original productions.
