Born in Diyarbakir on May 11, 1955, Nihat Hatipoglu completed primary school in Siirt and Malatya. He graduated from Uşak Imam Hatip High School and Uşak High School in 1975. Nihat Hatipoglu graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Theology in 1981. In the same faculty, he became a doctor with his work titled The Role of Hadiths in the Understanding of the Holy Qur’an in the Department of Hadith and associate professor in 2000. Hatipoglu became a professor in 2012.
Hatipoglu’s Educational Life
Hatipoglu is currently working as a faculty member at Dicle University, Faculty of Theology, Department of Hadith. He studied Arabic language in Egypt between 1985-1987. Hatipoglu worked as Imam Hatip and Director of Qur’an Courses. He is currently working as an expert at the High Board of Religious Affairs of the Presidency of Religious Affairs. Hatipoglu was also appointed as a member of YÖK as of March 11, 2017.
Hatipoglu’s Career
Nihat Hatipoğlu started preparing and presenting religious programs on national television channels by making a program on Kanal A for 5 years. He also continues his weekly broadcasts on two local radios broadcasting in Ankara (Arifan radio, Hedef radio) for 10 years without interruption. In 2004, he prepared and presented the Sahur program on Flash TV during Ramadan and on Star TV during Ramadan 2005. In 2005, he presented the program Dosta Doğru on Star TV.
Between 2005 and 2010, he presented Iftar and Sahur programs on Star TV during Ramadan. Radio and television audiences chose his Iftar and Sahur programs as the first. His programs are broadcast on many radios in Turkey. He still continues his weekly programs on ATV. He has around forty published cassettes, CDs and VCDs. His serial conferences continue at home and abroad. His articles have been published in journals such as Panel, Diyanet Magazine, Islamic Research and similar journals.
