Chinese Chery announced its new electric car brand iCAR as part of the Shanghai Auto Show and previewed its first two models.
The image of the iCAR expression may be an Apple-marked car, but the reality is a little different. iCAR, the subject of our news, introduced the new electric car brand of Chinese automotive manufacturer Chery and its first model, iCAR GT, today.
According to Chery’s statement, iCAR will produce cars with a price tag in the range of 150 thousand to 400 thousand Yuan, targeting young customers. According to local media, the brand’s logo was designed by Cao Xue, the creator of the panda, the mascot of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
The iCAR GT is still in the concept stage. The details of its exterior design clearly show this. The sports car, which draws attention with its doors opening upwards, has lighting even on its wheels, which will be one of the features that will be deleted in the production version. At the rear, the T-shaped taillights draw attention.
Not only that, the brand in question also previewed its second model, the iCAR 03 SUV. Developed for off-road use, the all-electric model was previously known by the code name S56. According to local media, the approximate dimensions of the SUV are 4.2 meters long, 1.8 meters wide, 1.7 meters high and 2.7 meters wheelbase. iCAR 03 will have 20 smart sensors and level 2+ autonomous driving technology.
