Telegram’s Favorite Feature Coming to WhatsApp: So How Will It Work?

Many of Telegram’s beloved features are slowly coming to WhatsApp. So what is the new upcoming feature and how will it work? Details are here!

WhatsApp played a big part in making one-on-one messaging and group chats as useful as they are today. However, communication needs are changing and WhatsApp is soon starting to facilitate larger group interactions through Communities.

While Telegram has had Channels for many years, WhatsApp unfortunately did not have a similar feature. A visual that appeared in the past weeks showed that this feature would come to WhatsApp soon.

After a series of reports showing this feature is in development, WABetaInfo discovered a new prompt that educates users about Channels. This prompt is in beta version 2.23.10.14 of the messaging app available in the Play Store.

Telegram’s Channels Feature Now Available on WhatsApp

WhatsApp states that there is no preset limit on the number of members a Channel can have. The prompt also explains that this feature can be used to share news, events, and other information with a wide audience.

An additional screenshot from WABetaInfo clarifies that updates from channels will appear below temporary status updates from your contacts. To accommodate this change, WhatsApp will rename the Status tab to Updates.

So what do you think about this new feature? You can share your thoughts with us in the comment section below.
