Leak detected in Drujba oil pipeline in Poland

Polish oil pipeline operator PERN announced that a leak was detected last night in the Drujba pipeline, which carries crude oil from Russia to Europe.
According to the statement made by PERN, the cause of the leak detected in the 1st line of the pipeline, which is approximately 70 kilometers from the city of Plock, is unknown.
While the scene was secured, it was announced that there was no problem in the 2nd line of the pipeline and other elements of PERN’s pipeline infrastructure.
“At this point all PERN services (technical, operational, in-house fire and environmental protection) are acting according to the algorithms provided for such situations,” the statement said.
The Drujba pipeline, which is one of the largest crude oil lines in the world with a length of approximately 5 thousand 500 kilometers, passes through Ukraine and Belarus and reaches Poland and Germany, while the southern part of the line extends to the Czech Republic and Hungary.
