Konya is the biggest city of Turkey in terms of surface area. So, the city has 31 different districts. Karatay, Selçuklu and Meram are the central districts of Konya metropolis. More than 1 million people live in these three districts of the city. The central districts are important industrial, commercial and educational centers of the city. Short History of Konya

Konya is one of the oldest settlements in Anatolia geography. It has been understood by researches that the city was founded in 6000-5000 BC in the region. Çatalhöyük, which is the oldest and most developed neolithic period settlement center found to date, is within the borders of Konya.
