Top 20 Cities With The Most Vehicles In Traffic!

The number of vehicles registered in traffic exceeded 29.1 million. When the distribution of these vehicles by 81 provinces is analyzed, it is determined that the highest number of vehicles are registered in Istanbul and the second busiest province is Ankara.

Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) announced the motor vehicles statistics for February.

Accordingly, the number of vehicles registered to traffic increased by 9 percent in February compared to the same month of the previous year, rising from 26 million 748 thousand 508 to 29 million 142 thousand 942.

Looking at TurkStat’s list of motorized land vehicles by provinces in 2024, the provinces with the highest number of vehicles in traffic also became clear.

These figures include cars, minibuses, buses, vans, trucks including heavy tonnage freight vehicles, motorcycles, special use vehicles and tractors.

Istanbul Is The City With The Heaviest Traffic

Istanbul has the highest number of vehicles in traffic with 5 million 486 thousand 7. Ankara follows Istanbul with 2 million 613 thousand 515 vehicles.

Izmir ranked third in the number of vehicles in traffic with 1 million 822 thousand 733 vehicles, Antalya ranked fourth with 1 million 466 thousand 17 vehicles and Bursa ranked fifth with 1 million 159 thousand 117 vehicles.
