The number of tourists in the first three months last year increased from 1 million 231 thousand 346 people to 2 million 904 thousand 460.
Russians in first place
Among the foreign tourists, Russia took place with 257 thousand 99 people. The increase in the number of tourists from Russia was 36.8 percent. England showed the highest increase in rate with 700 percent. The number of British tourists in the first three months of last year increased from 13 thousand 309 to 106 thousand 596.
Iran took the second place in the highest foreign ranking. While the number of tourists from Iran was 253 thousand, the increase exceeded 113 percent.
While the number of tourists from Germany exceeded 225 thousand, the increase was 164 percent. The number of tourists from France exceeded 187 percent and reached 110 thousand people. In the same period last year, the number of tourists from France was around 38 thousand.
The number of tourists coming to Istanbul exceeded the 9 million band in 2021 with an increase of 80 percent.
