With the Internal Diseases Intensive Care Unit, which was put into service at Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa (IUC) Faculty of Medicine, the intensive care bed capacity of the hospital increased to 111. ceremonially opened. Speaking at the opening, Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Rector Prof. Dr. Nuri Aydin stated that they have not only opened the intensive care unit, but also opened a unit where many specialists will be trained and trained. Stating how the importance and need of intensive care was experienced during the Covid-19 process, Aydin said that Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty reacted quickly in this process. He explained that he turned all his operating rooms into intensive care units and increased the service.
Emphasizing once again that they understand the importance of the intensive care unit and its education for internal branches, Aydın said, “10 years ago, the intensive care bed rate in Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty was 3 percent. Our total intensive care bed capacity in this unit increased to 111 and this rate I hope that from now on, new specialists who will provide intensive care services in our country are trained in this unit, and Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine, which is at the top of the list of those currently preferred in Turkey and in the specialty examinations, and that the specialization students, who are at the top of their preferences, also reach the important goal. We will provide an infrastructure for them to reach. They deserve and will reach.”
Assistants Will Gain Experience
Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. Sait Gonen stated that they will contribute to the service of patients with the opening and increase of intensive care beds, and said that the assistants will begin a period in which intensive care experience will be experienced.
