Fighter Jet Fragment Falls In Parking Lot

A piece believed to be an aircraft fuel tank hit a parking lot in Ankara. 3 vehicles were damaged.

In Ankara, there was an incident that stunned those who saw it.

At around 11.30 pm in Söğütözü neighborhood of Çankaya, the auxiliary fuel tank of an F-4 fighter jet belonging to the Air Forces Command broke off for an unknown reason during a flight over Ankara and fell into the open parking lot of TPAO.

Damage occurred to 2 parked cars and 1 light commercial vehicle.

Fell In The Parking Lot

A large number of fire brigade and police teams were dispatched to the area upon the notification of the bystanders.

Military officials also arrived in the area.

The moment when a piece of the plane fell was captured on cell phone footage.

In the footage, it was seen that the fragment floating in the sky fell into the garden of TPAO.

3 Cars Hit

The fragment, allegedly a fuel tank, hit 3 cars.

There was material damage to cars.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

MSB Made A Statement

On the other hand, the Ministry of National Defense also issued a statement on the incident.

In a statement made by the Ministry of National Defense, “A part of an F-4 fighter jet belonging to our Air Force Command fell into an open parking lot belonging to TPAO for an unknown reason during its flight in the skies over Ankara. The aircraft landed safely in Eskişehir square. There is no loss of life and no injuries in the incident.”
