Fiery Glow Seen At Nyamulagira Volcano
It was reported that activity and fiery glow was seen at Nyamulagira Volcano, located in the North-Kivu province in the eastern part of Democratic Republic of Congo.
In the statement made by the Goma Volcanological Observatory (OVG), it was announced that a fiery glow was seen at the top of Nyamulagira Volcano.
“It indicates that magmas are moving towards the central crater of Mount Nyamulagira at shallow depths,” the statement said.
In the statement, which called on the people of the region to remain calm, it was warned that the direction of the wind should be taken into account in the use of aircraft and helicopters in the region.
Nyiragongo Volcano, which is the neighbor of Nyamulagira Mountain, which is shown among the active volcanoes of the world, became operational on May 22, 2021, and 32 people died due to the disaster.
At least 250 people died in Nyiragongo’s eruption in 2002, and 120,000 people had to migrate from the region.
