Elon Musk Sued for Violation of Animal Rights!

Neuralink is facing a new animal rights violation lawsuit. Neuralink may have been ruthless in animal experiments.

A new investigation has been launched for Neuralink, Elon Musk’s brain-computer interface company. According to the claim of former employees of the company, Musk applied pressure for rapid completion of animal experiments. Upon these allegations, the US Department of Agriculture sued the company for animal rights violations.

Neuralink’s Animal Experiments will be Examined

Neuralink’s animal experiments could be trouble for Elon Musk. According to a statement made by company employees, Musk rushed the tests, causing unnecessary suffering and even death of animals. This situation violated the Animal Welfare Act of the USA.

According to documents reviewed by Reuters, the US Department of Agriculture launched an investigation into Neuralink in recent months at the request of the prosecutor. The prosecutor, who said that the allegations of his employees should be listened to, argued that more animals were euthanized than necessary.

According to an example in the case file, in the 2021 study, 25 of 60 pigs had the wrong size chip placed on their heads. However, it was reported that this was an accident that could have been avoided had the researchers been given enough time.

In another accident, Neuralink researchers allegedly placed the device on the wrong vertebrae of two pigs. This event could have been prevented by counting the vertebrae before surgery. Sam Baker, a veterinarian for Neuralink, decided to kill one of the pigs to end his suffering.

According to Reuters, Neuralink has killed nearly 1,500 animals since 2018, including pigs, monkeys and more than 280 sheep. The fact that the company has carried out its experiments in the office since 2020 has further fueled the claims.
