Do People Trust Autonomous Vehicles? The Results Of The Research Surprised!

Are autonomous vehicles trusted? A study has revealed the level of trust in this technology. Here are the details!

Autonomous driving technology has become especially popular in recent years. But do people trust autonomous vehicles? A study conducted in the United States of America (USA) has shed light on the answer to the question that many are curious about.

Could Autonomous Vehicles Become Common in the Future?
AAA conducted an important research on attitudes towards autonomous vehicles. According to the research, many people living in the US do not trust vehicles with autonomous driving technology.

The results of the survey, conducted via the internet and telephone, were surprisingly similar to the results of the survey conducted in 2023. 66% of respondents said they were afraid of autonomous vehicles, while 25% were unsure. Only 9% expressed confidence in this technology.

The shared graphs show that people’s thinking has changed significantly, especially after 2022. Confidence dropped from 15% in 2022 to 9% last year. It has remained at the same level this year.

The fact that autonomous vehicles have caused some accidents in the past may be contributing to the decline in confidence and concern about this technology.

Respondents were also asked which safety feature they would prefer in their next vehicle. 65% of respondents said they would prefer reverse automatic emergency braking, 63% automatic emergency braking and 62% lane keeping.
