An accident involving 200 vehicles occurred in the city of Zhengzhou due to heavy fog on Wednesday, according to Chinese state media. Dozens of firefighters and ambulances were dispatched to the area, where visibility decreased to 200 meters.
More than 200 vehicles collided on a bridge in the Chinese city of Zhengzhou due to heavy fog. Photos and videos posted on social media showed cars and trucks piled up on the Zhengxin Huanghe Bridge.
MANY ACCIDENTS HAVE HAPPENED
It has been reported that cars traveling in both directions on the bridge, which is an important crossing point in the Yellow River region, were involved in many accidents. Meteorology service, on the other hand, announced that the visibility in the region decreased to 200 meters from time to time.
POLICE DRIVER WARNED
Chinese traffic police also warned drivers by making a statement about the weather. “The temperature is low in winter and there is often heavy fog,” the statement said. It reminded drivers to slow down, use their lights and leave dangerous areas as quickly as possible.
TRAFFIC STARTED AGAIN
Police closed the bridge during rescue operations and traffic resumed that afternoon. On the other hand, while most of the injured were trapped in their vehicles, emergency aid and firefighters were dispatched to the scene.
