According to the statement made by the National Health Commission, 2 thousand 277 cases showing signs of the disease and 24 thousand 547 cases without symptoms were detected in the last 24 hours in mainland China.

The cities of Guangcou and Chongqing in the south of the country were the places where the cases were most intense.
ZERO CASE POLICY
Although the cases are small relative to the population and the majority of them show no symptoms, China continues to implement strict epidemic control measures called “zero cases”.
The strategy, aimed at suppressing COVID-19 cases where they arise and cutting the chain of transmission, requires strict and large-scale measures such as quarantine, travel restrictions, mass testing, restricting or maintaining closed-circuit activities of businesses in manufacturing, trade and services. In addition to interfering with the ordinary flow of life, the measures also lead to discussions in terms of their economic costs.
