China launched the earth observation satellite “Gaofin-12 04”

China launched the high-resolution optical earth observation satellite “Gaofin-12 04” into space.

According to the news of the Xinhua agency, the satellite was launched from the Ciucuen Satellite Center in the northwest of the country with the Long March 4B carrier rocket.

It has been reported that the satellite has placed in its planned orbital position.

The launch was the 483rd successful transport mission with Long March rockets.

The satellite is intended to be used in cadastre, urban planning, road network design, harvest forecasting, environmental management, and disaster monitoring and prevention.

China started producing Gaofin satellites for the first time in 2010 in order to make clearer earth observations from space, and the first satellite, Gaofin-1, was sent into space in 2013.

33 of Gaof’s satellites, whose name means “high resolution” in Chinese, are still active.
