The upward trend in the exchange rate has been continuing since the beginning of the week. The dollar has gained more than 2 liras since Monday. After the increase in the exchange rate, there was a triple hike in fuel oil. As of midnight tonight, 2 liras and 70 kurus for gasoline, 1 lira for diesel, 37 kurus, and 67 kurus for autogas.

How much were the fuel prices?

After the hike, gasoline prices rose from 23 liras to 99 cents in Istanbul, from 24 liras to 36 cents in Ankara, and from 24 liras to 38 cents in Izmir.
Diesel prices rose from 22 liras to 16 cents in Istanbul, from 22 liras to 56 cents in Ankara, and from 22 liras to 67 cents in Izmir.
The price of autogas, which was 10 liras in Istanbul, rose to 74 kurus, from 10 liras to 67 kurus in Ankara, and from 10 liras to 52 kurus in İzmir.

The hike in fuel prices caused queues to form at many gas stations. Citizens who did not want to be affected by the hike flocked to the stations before midnight.

Fuel prices are calculated by refineries based on the average of processed product prices in the Mediterranean market, including Turkey, and changes in the dollar exchange rate. As a result of this calculation, the prices applied by the distribution companies may differ slightly depending on the companies and cities due to competition and freedom.
