Apple Is Working On A New iPad Mac Display

Apple is working on a new iPad/Mac display compatible with iOS 17’s Standby feature. Here are the details about the features of the screen!

Apple is reportedly developing a large iPad/Mac display that can transform into a smart display.

The upcoming iOS 17 feature StandBy will turn compatible iPhones into smart displays while charging in landscape mode. These screens will offer a variety of clock options and widgets, as well as displaying the time and weather. It will also support Smart Stack widgets that automatically appear based on location, event or time.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is working on an A-series processor and a large-size display powered by new software. This display will work independently of the Mac and offer certain features, possibly via a low-power mode similar to iOS 17’s Standby feature.

The New Screen May Come Under the Name Studio Screen

Currently, Apple offers a 27-inch 5K Studio Display with A13 Bionic processor similar to the iPhone 11 series. Studio Display features a 12MP Ultra-wide camera with 122° field of view, Siri support and Center Stage for “Hey Siri”, spatial audio and video calls.

A new Studio Display with updated A-series processor could potentially support smart display functionality.

Gürman suggests that a new Studio Display with smart display features may not be introduced this year, but may launch next year at the earliest.
