Here are Erdoğan’s statements on the logistics center:
“I would like to express that I am especially pleased to learn that the logistics center, which has been realized with an investment of over 100 million dollars, will be a door of employment for hundreds of our people. Amazon Turkey, which started its commercial activities in our country 5 years ago, today achieving an export success of 500 million euros with 45 thousand entrepreneurs deserves all kinds of appreciation. We hope that such investments that provide employment and create added value will increase even more. As a country that has attracted over 255 billion dollars of direct international investment in the last 21 years, we do not accept the distinction between domestic and foreign capital. We consider it our duty to support everyone who believes and trusts in Turkey and works to mobilize the potential of the Turkish economy. I believe that international investments, which have played a critical role in our country’s development journey so far, will also play a locomotive role in the construction of the Turkish Century.”
It was said that Amazon will prioritize sustainability in its logistics center in Turkey. The company will have policies such as zero carbon emission commitment and meeting its hot water needs with 100% electric energy.
