Aydın is an important tourism center of Turkey and located in Aegean Region. Different districts play different roles on Aydın economy. Efeler is the biggest and central district of Aydın with 300.000 population. So, we can say that only 26% Aydın population live in city center. It means that the cities have different features with important populations. Short History of Aydın

Throughout the history, Aydın has hosted many different civilizations. So, the city has a rich cultural diversity and many historical buildings. Strabon, one of the historians of the Ancient Greek period, states that Aydın was founded by the tribes of Argos and Thrace. Northern tribes that they migrated to Thrace starting from the BC 8th century and started to spread to the Aegean and Menderes Valley from there.
