In India, a private airline has punished two of its pilots for having an open-mouthed coffee mug and dessert in the cockpit mid-flight.
The incident happened after a photo of a glass and dessert placed on the dashboard of a SpiceJet plane went viral. Reports revealed that the plane was hovering at an altitude of 37,000 feet at the time the photo was taken. After backlash against the photo on social media, India’s aviation regulator issued a warning to the company. In the statement made by SpiceJet, it was announced that the issue was investigated and two pilots were taken off. Aviation experts said that pouring coffee on electronic devices would be enough to disrupt the system.
