12 New Agreements to Be Signed Between Turkey and Qatar
12 new agreements are expected to be signed at the Seventh Meeting of the Turkey-Qatar High Strategic Committee.
Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu held a joint press conference with Sheikh Mohammed Abdurrahman Al Sani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar.
At the meeting, Al Sani said that 12 new agreements are expected to be signed at the Seventh Meeting of the Turkey-Qatar High Strategic Committee.
Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu also stated that they examined the documents ready for signature of the two countries and followed the implementation of the previously signed documents.
The two Ministers then answered journalists’ questions.
Çavuşoğlu: The sensitivity of Qatar and Turkey should set an example for the international community
Underlining the cooperation between Qatar and Turkey in Afghanistan, Çavuşoğlu said, “The international community needs to deliver humanitarian aid to the Afghan people. The sensitivity of Qatar and Turkey should set an example.” said.
Noting that they are in close contact with Qatar regarding the operation of airports in Afghanistan, Çavuşoğlu said:
“We are talking with Qatar about what we can do to keep the airports in Afghanistan open, whether we can operate the airports together. We agree among ourselves on this matter. We will act together. The Taliban should have a clear view on this. And we need to be clear with Qatar on this issue. Afghanistan.” Let’s contribute to. Normalization with Saudi Arabia: We want to optimize our relations with the countries of the region
Reminding that Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will be in Doha tomorrow as part of his Gulf tour, Qatari Minister Al Sani said it was a coincidence that these visits coincided with the same day.
Çavuşoğlu also said the following about Saudi Arabia-Turkey and Saudi Arabia-Qatar relations:
“When relations start to normalize, it is normal for this traffic to increase. As Turkey, we are pleased that the crisis in Qatar has been overcome with other countries for 3-4 years and relations are normalized. This is the picture we want. We are also pleased that the blockades against Qatar are lifted. We always want to develop and maintain our relations with countries. Sometimes There may be issues that we disagree on, but it should not affect the relations in general. There is no hostility, ill will or missteps towards the countries in this region, but Qatar has also contributed to the normalization of relations recently. There are meetings, there are visits. As Turkey, we want to improve our relations with the countries in this region. Our region needs prosperity, peace and stability. We can achieve this together.”
Al Sani: Turkish economy has solid foundations
Finally, answering the question about the Turkish economy, Qatari Minister Al Sani used the following statements:
“We trust various Turkish economies. The Turkish economy is built on solid foundations. This allows the economy to overcome the current situation. Qatar has large investments in Turkey and these investments yield fruitful results.”
