A family living in Cukurca village of Hakkari has been experiencing bad days due to snakes that have not been missing from their homes for 5 years. The family, who said they caught more than 100 snakes at home this year, is waiting for help from the authorities.
The family of 5, living in Cukurca village of Yuksekova district of Hakkari, is experiencing great fear because of snakes entering their one-story earthen house.
Ayse Oyman, mother of 3 children, said that with the warming of the weather, snakes re-emerged.
Stating that his children could not enter the house during the day, Oyman said, “My children’s psychology has deteriorated because of the snakes that appeared in swarms. We cannot walk around the house, we cannot enter the kitchen because of fear.”
Saying that they have been experiencing this problem for 5 years, Oyman said, “Especially at night, snakes come out from under the beds, from the rooms of the house and from the closets. My children are leaving the house out of fear.”
Saying that they have caught more than 100 snakes so far with the help of their neighbors, Oyman asked the authorities for help.
