Zelensky: We have liberated 1456 POWs since February 24

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky delivered a year-end speech at the Ukrainian Parliament. Zelensky noted that Ukraine has reclaimed 1,800 settlements and 1456 POWs have been rescued since the start of the war.

In his year-end speech, Ukrainian President Zelensky, ” It was Ukraine that united the European Union. It turned out to be possible. Now Europe is defending itself. Europe is recovering from crises. This happened despite all the resources that Russia spent to tear our continent apart. Ukraine solidified the foundation It strengthens the European Union and the entire free world with its struggle for freedom and peace. This is our main success in foreign policy in the last year” said.

Stating that 1800 settlements captured by Russia were recaptured and 1456 prisoners of war were rescued, Zelensky, “The goal of restoring Ukraine’s territorial integrity and the liberation of all Ukrainians held in Russian captivity or prisons are important to us. The prisoner has been rescued, but we still have a lot of work to do,” he said. Zelensky said that they are also working to return all Ukrainian citizens who left the country due to the war to their homes.

DONBAS AND CRIMEA

In his speech, Zelensky stated that life will return to normal in Crimea and Donbas, “After February 24, we have to restore the lands that the Russian invaders invaded from the ruins. Likewise, we will ensure that life in the lands of Donbas and Crimea, which were illegally occupied in 2014, will return to normal.” said.
