YouTube’s New ‘Fixed Audio’ Feature Coming to TVs!
The fixed audio feature that YouTube launched last month for mobile and PCs will soon be available on TVs. Here are the details!
YouTube’s new “fixed audio” feature, which has been available on mobile and PCs for a while, is now coming to Android TVs and Google TVs.
What is Constant Audio?
For those who don’t know or haven’t noticed that it’s still rolling out, constant volume is a feature designed to improve your listening experience across a wide range of YouTube content. In a nutshell, it automatically adjusts the volume of the videos you’re watching, so you don’t have to quickly turn down the volume when the video is loud or turn up the volume when the video is low.
Google’s official support page describes the constant volume feature as “helping to reduce jarring variations in volume” and you can now use it on your TVs.
The feature was last detected in YouTube v4.40.303, and if you have it on your Android TV or Google TV, you can see the “constant volume” feature by going into the video settings while playing a video. From this screen, you can turn the feature on and off at any time.
As before, Google doesn’t recommend using this feature when listening to music, but using it for podcasts, TV shows, movies or vlogs will allow you to keep the volume more consistent.
