No Interim Increase in Minimum Wage in 2024

Citizens express the difficulty of making a living with the minimum wage every time. On the other hand, the increase in the minimum wage causes many other products to increase. This situation does not actually bring a solution to people’s livelihood difficulties.

In previous years, there was a serious increase in the minimum wage with an interim increase. According to this year, it was announced that there will be no interim increase in the minimum wage. The Minister of Labor and Social Security also said that no change was made on this issue and that there would be no interim increase.

He responded to the question of whether citizens should expect an interim increase in the minimum wage as follows:

“No, such an issue is not on our agenda. The process will continue in the same way as we made a decision at the beginning. In July, the differences arising from inflation or the contract will be reflected in pensions. As you know, the lowest pension is 10 thousand liras. Already in July, the differences arising from inflation or the contract will definitely be reflected in the pensions. Apart from this, we are not considering any interim increase in the minimum wage.”
