A new rumor suggests that the 15-inch MacBook Air will launch much later than expected, or the Apple Silicon M3 will launch much sooner than expected.

Rumors of a larger MacBook Air have been rising in recent months, but determining a launch range hasn’t been easy. Recently, there has been consensus that the 15-inch MacBook Air will launch in April 2023, but a new rumor contradicts that date.

New MacBook Airs Coming in Second Half of 2023

A new report by 9to5Mac cites anonymous, independent sources regarding the as yet unannounced product and processor selection. According to sources, Apple is working on a next-generation MacBook Air that will come in two sizes and will be announced at the same time. This new MacBook Air will use the M3 processor, and rumor has it Apple is expected to pack the same M3 into the updated 13-inch MacBook Pro. The report states that the 13-inch MacBook Air codenamed J513 is already operational and the 15-inch MacBook Air is codenamed J515.

Sources didn’t specify any timing beyond the simultaneous arrival of both products, but Monday’s report estimates they will launch in the second half of 2023 or during WWDC in June.
